What is a giclée Print? A giclée print is a high quality fine art reproduction, where archival pigment inks are sprayed on to an archival fine art paper or canvas. Simple really!

The term ‘giclée print’ is used to describe the giclée printing process. Images created from the high-resolution digital capture of original artwork, are printed using archival quality inks onto archival fine art substrates including canvas and fine art papers to achieve giclée prints with exceptional stability and lightfastness.

What is a Giclée Print?

Our giclée printing process provides a far superior colour accuracy in hues, saturation and luminance, including shadows and highlights than any other form of print reproduction. Each substrate handles colour differently this is called a colour gamet, fine micro adjustments are made to the digital image file, colour correcting to match the original artwork.  Giclée printing is the perfect method for reproducing archival fine art, photography, digital art and illustration. Giclee prints can be printed on a variety of substrates including 100% cotton Rag, such as those made by Hahnemühle and Canson Infinity.

Our Epson SC-P9000 giclée printer uses the Epsons UltraChrome HDX ink, which includes cyan, light cyan, magenta, vivid magenta, vivid light magenta, yellow,  photo black, matte black, light black, and light light black. The combination of these colours on our original Hahnemühle or Canson Infinity archival canvases and papers provides long-lasting prints displaying vivid colours, rich subtle tones and detailed blacks.

Epson’s HDX UltraChrome inks are pigment based, the prints made with them on archival paper can last from 70+ years without showing signs of noticeable fading. Our, giclée prints are considered to be among the highest quality prints available and are sold through galleries and museums throughout the world.
