A new art competition has been released for 2019, raising vital funds for a worthwhile cause. Artists are invited to submit their works into SFS Introducing before the 19th July 2019. All works submitted will help contribute towards this campaign so why not participate?
Explorers Against Extinction
Explorers against Extinction is a wildlife conservation campaign organised by registered UK charity the Real World Conservation Trust. The primary aims of the campaign are to raise awareness about the threats facing the world’s most iconic species and their habitats while also raising significant funds for nominated projects pivotal in the battle to protect them.
A new competition to 2019, SFS Introducing invites all to submit artworks which include an endangered species (we’ve found this list on the WWF website
of endangered animals.) Any artists, whether professional or hobbyist, over the age of 16, can submit their work, produced in any medium, however, the piece must be either A3 or A4 in size.
The best 100 artworks will be selected by a panel and added to the core Sketch for Survival touring collection. However, no work submitted and entered will go to waste. All will still contribute to the campaign and will be submitted to the Sketch for Survival Affordable Art Gallery which will then be sold. All pieces of art will contribute to the campaign and help raise vital funds. Everybody who submits an artwork will receive a Certificate of Participation from Explorers against Extinction.
There will also be a series of awards through the SFS Introducing competition. These include the following;
Artist of the Year: This winner will receive their award at the Royal Geographical Society in London on 14th November in addition to a £500 voucher to spend on art materials and equipment from GreatArt and a free annual subscription to either The Artist or Leisure Painter magazine.
The Leisure Painter’s People’s Choice Award; this work is chosen by the public, both through an online portal and through the exhibition tour. The winner will be featured in a Leisure Painter magazine article and will receive a £500 voucher for GreatArt. In addition to this, they will also receive an annual subscription to either The Artist of Leisure Painter magazine.
The Artist Award; will be selected by the editorial team at The Artist magazine. The judges will decide who captures the best spirit of the campaign. This winner will be featured in The Artist and will receive a free annual subscription to either The Artist or Leisure Painter magazine.
Sketch for Survival along with the SFS Introducing pieces will tour the UK between September and November 2019, visiting five different venues and finishing at the Royal Geographical Society in London.
