Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2021

The Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize is open to all for submissions, from young talented photographers, gifted amateurs to established professionals. The exhibition will take place at the new arts hub Cromwell Place London from 10 November 2021 to 2nd January 2022.

First Prize is £15,000

This competition will showcase the often extraordinary and interesting stories behind the images. From how the images were created, through to the inspiring stories of the individuals within the images. The images will range from formally captured portraits to spontaneously and intimately captured moments of friends, family and their intrinsic relationships.

How to Enter

Photographers must upload their images via the website. All images will be viewed by a panel of judges. The entrants who are successful from this first round will be invited to deliver their work to a venue in London for the final round of physical judging. All entrants will be notified if their work has been selected for the second round of judging by 21 June 2021.

Full competition rules can be found here.

For the Photographic Portrait Prize there is an entry fee of £20.00 per photograph entered. You can enter upto 6 photographs, but you need to enter all your photographs on the same application form. You cannot add them at a later date or on another application form.

Professional printing of your Photographs

If you get through to the second round, you’ll need a print of your photograph on paper. The paper you choose will impact how your image will look, affecting the colours, shadows and definition within the image.
