The 2019 ING Discerning Eye annual exhibition is now open for entries. This annual exhibition which has been running since 1990, is a show of small works which has been independently selected by six prominent figures from the art world.
Overall, this exhibition provides the opportunity for lesser-known artists to have their works hung alongside contributions from internationally recognised names. The works are judged by six individuals from the art industry which is made up of two artists, two collectors and two critics, some of which are; artists Gill Button and Charlotte Hodes, collector; Tim Rice and the critic; John Penrose.
The closing date to submit your entries is 7th September 2019, so there is still plenty of time! There are some basic rules you need to be aware of before submitting your work though; the exhibition is only open to residents of the UK and you can submit up to six pieces of work. This includes both 2D and 3D pieces. Each submission costs up to £15, however, there are discounts available on this depending on how you submit your work, more information can be found here. Furthermore, you work must be for sale if entering. To submit your works you can there are drop off points across the country, these all take place during early September and the locations include; Penzance, Birmingham, Edinburgh, London, Plymouth, Exeter and more!
Prizes
Not only will the selected work be exhibited in the Discerning Eye exhibition held at the Mall Galleries in London between the 14th and 24th November 2019, but there are some big prizes up for grabs, including;
for outstanding entries from the Northern Ireland, Scotland, North, Wales, Midlands, East Anglia, South West and South East regions
